Blogging guidelines
Blogs are in a public space – be proud of anything that you write or post. Do not post information or pictures of others without their permission – never use full names. Never link to something you haven’t read or do not approve of. When you link to something, you should make sure it is something that you really want to be associated with. If in doubt- ask for advice from your teacher or the librarians.
All comments made on this blog will be moderated by the Teacher Librarian before going live on the blog.
Blogging guidelines:
Be responsible when posting on the internet.
Write with full words and sentences – not mobile phone talk.
Don’t post anything about yourself that you wouldn’t like to see posted world wide.
NEVER post your full name or the full name of others.
We recommend students use the following naming conventions; pseudonym (nick name), initials, first name (christian) or nothing.
NEVER post any details about where you might live:
“Hi I’m Robert and I live in Banks Rd Marcus Hill” BAD!!!
Hi I’m Robert and I live on the Bellarine Peninsula” GOOD!!!NEVER post any information that may lead to your identity. Be careful of any information you reveal.
“I play basketball for the Queenstown Tigers-my games at 7.30 this Friday” BAD!!!
“I play basketball with a local team during the week” GOOD!!!
Bad language is unacceptable.
Beware of clicking on hyperlinks that may be posted – they could lead to inappropriate content.
Remember- anyone can write anything on the Internet.
Don’t believe everything you read.
